graduate

If you have followed me along with my old blog mollylouiseblogs you will probably know that in July to the start of August I took part in a youth programme called NCS - National Citizen Service. In the 4 weeks of the summer programme I learnt so many skills which you just can't learn in the class like organising charity events and really reaching out to the community. In total we raised just over £1000 for two charities just by bag-packing and a family fun-day.

On September 14th, I graduated NCS and we received certificates of recognition for our efforts as well as looking back on the experience through the highs and the lows. I cannot wait for what the future will hold with the help of NCS. Off to put that on my UCAS applications and CV to make myself shine out, haha!

back to school - girly essentials

That time of the year is back. Back to school, yay? With this back to school season it is important to be prepped for every scenario (disaster) which may just happen at school. But never fear this post will cover all those pesky disasters that sneak up on you.

I would suggest bringing a small compact hairbrush like this 'tangle teaser' inspired hairbrush because they're cheap so it will be okay if the bristles break off or the cover snaps or what no. This is also handy dandy because the cover has a mirror which means that you don't have to bring a separate mirror but it's also I good idea to take a compact mirror if the mirror isn't good for you.

Here is an array of products which would help you as a lady in those awkward situations. First we have the Nivea Facial Cleansing Wipes which will be useful if you're still at secondary school and you are wearing make-up and have P.E the next lesson to avoid smudged/running eyeliner or mascara or just maybe your make-up is annoying you. Since school/college/university is a public place a handy bottle of hand sanitiser like this Cuticura Floral and Fruity Hand Sanitiser which smells good and guarantees 99.99% germ free so you can avoid getting every illness spreading at your school. Also, deodorant is essential as you never know when you'll start to smell funky I have chosen the Nivea Invisible Black and White Deodorant since it will work with any uniform/dress code and keeps you smelling clean. Alternately if aerosols like deodorants are forbidden at your school you can use a roll on, the Nivea and Sanex ones are good, I highly recommend. Sometimes you may have oily/greasy hair from running late(... by sleeping in) and washing your hair is off the itinerary. Although you may spritz it in your hair before going out but you still need to spruce it up in the day using Batiste Dry Shampoo Mini. Again, aerosols may be banned in your school but Lush and some other high street brands such as the got2be range. Lastly some sanitary items have to be there or there might be a problem one day so stick a few pads or tampons in there for your time of the month.

Now for make-up (if you are allowed to), first I have Smashbox's Trio in Filter consisting in neutral shades with a highlighting shade, lid shade and a darker crease shade to build intensity for after school if you have plans like popping to the coffee shop or a bakery. I also have MAC's Pro Long-wear Paintpot in Tailor Grey which is a lovely beige colour which is long lasting and looks perfect on it's own for a little colour to bring out your eyes. Since eye make-up is known for smudging/fading so a liquid eyeliner like Revolution's Liquid Eye-Liner and Rimmel's Kate Mascara to top up any mascara to give your eyelashes length and volume which they may lack. I also would suggest having a lip balm preferably a medicated one like chapsticks but if you want a hint of colour Maybelline Labylips Electro in Oh! Orange, using the babylips lip balm in small quantities to create a goldish pink shade. If you have oily skin it would be ideal to bring a pressed powder like Revolution's Pressed Powder to control any oils and to even out any redness. To apply all this make up I am will be bringing a brush set from Primark which I got for £1 to keep for on the go since they're not the best of quality and and small enough to fit snug in a make-up bag.

Other essential may include: a wad of hair-bobbles and a few of hair pins to keep fly away's away and keep the annoying length out of your face. I would also suggest something minty to keep your breath fresh like a breathspray/mints/chewing gum to kill any unpleasant odours.

2015 so far

1 / 2 / 3
NCS
1) Last day of NCS for me - This was taken after our social action project in which we were fundraising for local charities dedicating their expertise for ill or deprived children who are less privileged than ourselves.
 2) This was from the first week of NCS at our adventure week destination - This exact photo was the last one of the week and also our first room-mate selfie. We got along fantastically.
 3) Week 3 of NCS with a new bunch of roomies, we got along even better as if we were sisters, can't wait to see them at graduation.
4
I believe this was a birthday party but I can't really remember much, it was back in May and my memory doesn't stretch that far.
5
This was early August when my family were holidaying in Weymouth which is a lovely city in Dorset and if you ever find yourself there you'll never be bored. The penguins were by far the best at Sealife Adventure Centre which is the beyond the best sealife ever.
6
This was about May again because I got my selfie stick and just couldn't wait to try it out with the lads at sixth form. We definitely made the most out of our revision session.
7/ 9
Summer Ball at Sixth form we definitely took full advantage of the photobooth using dorky cute faces.
8
This was probably the only hot day we've had this year, I can home from school and changed into my swimsuit to appreciate the heat. Needless to say I think I may have cooked like a lobster.
